Dragon Quest 8 on 3DS Has New Dungeon and Ending
The news was revealed in the newest issue of Jump magazine shared on Twitter by @kazu4281. The exact ending is still unknown, but Gematsu hints at “surprise developments,” “an angry King Clavius,” and “a sad protagonist.”
In addition to the new ending, the 3DS version will also include a new post-ending dungeon to explore. Called the Ultimate Trial, this dungeon will contain “purple treasure chests.”
Dragon Quest VIII: The Journey of the Cursed King for the PlayStation 2 was first released in Japan in 2004, and in North America in 2005. A 3DS version was announced earlier this year, with a projected Japan release date of August 27. It’s rumoured that both Dragon Quest 7 and Dragon Quest 8 will eventually be released in western territories as well.
