It is the start of the most competitive and important sales season of the year, so Nintendois going all out to convince consumers to buy heir systems and games. Retailers, for their part, will be trying to rapidly clear out old stock and coax gamers to their stores to buy the latest and greatest games on offer.
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is the key release — along with the amiibo range — for the home console this Holiday season, and some stores are using it as a temptation to flog unwanted white 8GB Wii U systems. Nintendo has been phasing the 8GB model out for over a year and focusing on the 32GB alternative, but the smaller model may just be the affordable way to jump into the Wii U world; considering the fact 32GB is rather small in itself and a hard drive is likely necessary for most regardless, it’s a tempting option.
Nintendo UK has used its Wii U Facebook page to highlight one such offer of a Wii U Basic and the new Super Smash Bros., but we’ve looked around online and found a few other deals, too; these are all established yet smaller online retailers. Some of these deals mean that the actual systems are being valued at less than a standard 3DS; these are all UK deals and prices only.
