Dell’s New Quad-Core AMD-based Inspiron M501R

Dell has released a new Inspiron M501R with a quad-core AMD Phenom II N930. Also on offer is the Inspiron M5030 with a triple-core AMD Phenom II P320.

The 15.6-inch notebook weighs 5.83 pounds and has ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 integrated graphics.  There is an  option for an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 550v with 1GB, as well. It comes pre-installed with Windows Home Premium 64-bit and can be fitted with up to 8GB DDR3 RAM. 4GB  is the  standard for the unit.

SRS Premium sound is part of the package, as is a 1.3-megapixel webcam. Ports include eSATA, HDMI, and a 7-in-1 card reader. The M501R comes with a 500GB hard drive and the M5030 a 320GB hard drive. Other standard inclusions are a DVD burner and a six-cell battery.

The  color options  are Obsidian Black, Peacock Blue, Lotus Pink or Tomato Red. The base configuration starts at $750 with free shipping
