Crows Burning Edge

The official website of Bandai Namco Entertainment’s upcoming Crows Burning Edge action game announced that the game’s PlayStation Vita version has been cancelled due to “various circumstances.” The game will now only ship for the PlayStation 4.

The site is also streaming a new promotional video for the game, which shows the game’s mechanics, and an original story supervised by original author Hiroshi Takahashi. The game is slated for October 27.

The first print edition of the game will include a short story episode focused on Guriko Hanaki, as well as more custom clothing items for the side story characters.

The playable characters in the game each have their own theme song. Bouya Harumichi’s theme song is “Killing Me” by SiM. Ryūshin Kunō’s theme song is “What’s My Name” by Miyavi. Tatsuya Bitō’s theme song is “Cold Edge” by 9mm Parabellum Bullet. Asamu Furukawa/Blue’s theme song is “super stomper” by 10-FEET. SiM will perform the game’s theme song “Crows.”

The original Crows manga ran for 26 volumes, and Digital Manga Publishing partially published its sequel manga Worst in English. Crows also inspired a two-episode video anime adaptation, 1994’s Kōkō Butō Den Crows. Tokyo Shock released the Crows Zero live-action film on Blu-ray Disc in North America in 2012 after the film had been previously released in North America on DVD in 2009, and the video label MVM released both Crows Zero and Crows Zero II in the United Kingdom.

The third live-action Crows film, Crows Explode, opened in Japan in April 2014.
