Halo 4 has a pair of interesting new recruits: Conan O’Brien and Andy Richter.

Tuesday night’s Conan on TBS had a nine-minute segment of the late night host’s work with 343 Industries to voice a character in the upcoming Microsoft Xbox 360 game, out Nov 6.

O’Brien discusses the role with franchise director Frank O’Connor and executive producer Kiki Wolfkill. When it comes time to do voiceover duty, O’Brien brings in Richter. Offering dialogue as two loading men in a hanger bay, O’Brien says, “My crate says ‘Snacks’. ‘Various snacks’.”

“They probably wouldn’t miss a few if you know what I’m saying,” Richter says.

“I already opened mine a little bit and took out some space peanuts,” O’Brien counters.

At another point, O’Brien offers: “This is a pretty sweet union we are in. Stand near the crates but don’t ever move ’em.”

Some funny responses also come after O’Connor also asks the actors to make “sounds like people are pummeling you with the butt of their rifle?”

Microsoft claims this was not just for a TV skit and will have more announcements on the rest of our voice cast in the coming months.

There are additional outtakes from the Conan and Andy voiceover session on the Conan web site. In one, O’Brien tells gamers “whenever you play Halo 4 and you encounter our characters, know that our characters are pretty much thinking about getting chicken tacos.”
