It was announced today that Justin Bieber will be the next person to be roasted by Comedy Central. Ryan Seacrest was the first to break the news on Twitter, and Bieber responded soon after, expressing how excited he was, saying that “For years I have wanted Comedy Central to roast me,” a claim Comedy Central president Kent Alterman confirmed in his statement.
“Justin has been asking us for a few years to roast him, and we just kept telling him to go create more source material first,” Altman said. “We’re thrilled he listened.”
Comedy Central has roasted countless celebrities over the years, including James Franco, Charlie Sheen, David Hasselhoff, Roseanne Barr, and Donald Trump. It will be interesting to see which of Bieber’s friends and colleagues will be showing up at the event to poke fun at the pop star, and if any of them will also have something nice and sincere to say about him afterward.
