Chrome for Android Gains New Touch Gestures

Google today announced that a new version of its Chrome browser will be available to Android devices in the days ahead.

Chief among the improvements are new gestures that Google says should improve navigating through web sites and open tabs. For example, swiping horizontally across the top toolbar will switch between tabs. Users can access the tab switcher now by dragging down vertically from the toolbar, as well as open the menu by dragging down from the menu tool. This last drag-and-select function works without requiring users to lift their finger from the screen. Google is also updating the desktop version of Chrome with new image searching tools.

The new versions of Chrome for Android devices and desktop machines will roll out gradually over the next few days.
