Cellular South will have a  30-second spot during the Super Bowl which will feature Cellular South’s most advanced Android-powered touchscreen smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S. It will also showcase the new Samsung AllShare software platform, which enables users to seamlessly share content among a variety of devices within a home or office network using their Android smartphone.

“This new ad showcases two of our most important priorities in a clever and humorous way – providing our customers with the latest smartphone devices and giving them access to the industry’s latest applications to make their wireless experience more robust,” said Lisa Flynt, director of marketing for Cellular South.

The new commercial is set in a crowded sports bar with everyone glued to the digital flat panel televisions lining the walls in the room to watch the Big Game. A group of three women, seemingly bored with the football hysteria, are using a Samsung Galaxy S smartphone to stream and watch an HD-quality video. What viewers won’t expect is what these women decide to do with their video and how it disrupts the game. Cellular South wants to keep the end of the commercial a mystery to be revealed on game night, but is sure that it will create some laughter and interest in both the Samsung Galaxy S and Samsung’s impressive AllShare software.

AllShare from Samsung

This new software features Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) technology to share content among devices on a user’s home network. AllShare is available on many of Samsung’s newest and most advanced products, such as the Galaxy Tab, The Galaxy S smartphone, Blu-ray players and Samsung Smart TVs, and allows users to seamlessly share content from one device to another.

Using AllShare and DLNA compatible devices such as a Samsung Blu-ray player and designated Samsung Smart TV, users can stream a home movie, video clips and user-generated music to a Galaxy Tab, a computer or smartphone. Also, the user can share photos from their Samsung camera or mobile phone and stream a photo slideshow to their TV. The software even allows cameras to automatically back up photos to a computer.

YouTube Ad Blitz Contest

Cellular South also has entered the spot in YouTube’s Ad Blitz contest, a special section on YouTube created to showcase 2011 “Big Game” commercials. Visitors to the special Ad Blitz channel will be able to cast their vote based on the commercial’s entertainment value, quality, originality, creativity, humor and similar characteristics.

The winner of the contest, which runs from the conclusion of the Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 6 through 11 p.m. CST on Feb. 14, will receive free placement of its commercial for 24 hours on YouTube’s website homepage on Feb. 19.
