CBS on Wednesday revealed its primetime schedule for the 2016-17 TV season, following similar announcements from NBC, Fox and ABC. The major headlines: The network is bringing comedy back to Monday nights; Michael Weatherly’s new drama Bull will be paired with his former series NCIS on Tuesdays; NCIS: LA will shift to Sundays-at-8; and Joel McHale’s new sitcom The Great Indoors has landed the coveted post-Big Bang Theory slot on Thursday’s (after football).
MacGyver, meanwhile, replaces The Amazing Race on Fridays-at 8, with the venerable reality series returning at midseason in a TBD slot.
Also on deck for midseason: Returning shows Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders and Undercover Boss, and new series Training Day and Doubt.
Regarding the fate of Limitless, new CBS prez Glenn Geller told reporters Wednesday morning, “Right now, we’re in discussions with other potential buyers” for the series.
