CBS has ordered four additional drama pilots for the 2018-19 season, the most notable being a new TV series adaptation of James Ellroy’s novel LA Confidential which New Regency, Lionsgate Television and CBS Television Studios are producing.
The book follows three homicide detectives, a female reporter and an up-and-coming actress whose lives intersect while the detectives pursue a sadistic serial killer among the secrets and lies of gritty 1950’s Los Angeles.
Jordan Harper is writing and serves as executive producer alongside Arnon Milchan. Other pilots ordered include the racially charged Red Line from Ava DuVernay and Greg Berlanti, Main Justice which is inspired by former Attorney General Eric Holder, and military courtroom drama The Code from the creators of the “Limitless series.
