Casio America and its parent company, Casio Computer have announced the launch of Imaging Square, an online service designed to enable users to transform their prized photos into compelling pieces of art. The new service will go live in the United States in February 2011.

Using HDR to Transform Photography

Casio’s new Imaging Square service is based on the theme “New Art for My Life.” In several of the company’s recently announced cameras, including the EX-ZR100 and Tryx, Casio intends to offer consumers new ways to enhance their creativity, specifically through its high dynamic range (HDR) technology. HDR is a shooting mode that will program the camera to take several shots with different exposures and instantly combine them into a single image with a high dynamic range. Casio has further enhanced its HDR technology with HDR-ART, an innovative new function which uses HDR technology to create artistic photographs. HDR-ART locally controls the contrast and the level of color saturation of the analyzed subject. HDR-ART gives users the ability to create dramatic, eye-catching images that suit their artistic tastes and are sure to impress.
