Capital One has indicated to its card holders that it is pulling out of the Isis mobile payment service.

In a statement, the company said, “We have gained valuable insights from our customers who were among the first to pay with the Isis Mobile Wallet. We continue to engage with Isis on the future of mobile payments.”

Capital One’s departure from the mobile payment venture means only American Express, Chase and BarclayCard remain in support of Isis. Isis, which uses NFC-equipped smartphones to enable tap-and-go mobile payments, has been in extended trials in Austin and Salt Lake City.

It is expected to launch nationwide later this year.
