Apple Updates Logic Pro and Logic Express to Version 9.1.5

Apple has updated its professional music software Logic Pro and Logic Express to version 9.1.5, resolving some issues introduced in the previous version and improving overall compatibility, performance and stability. Among the issues were a problem that caused unexpected feedback after importing a song from Garageband for iPad, and issues that could cause Logic to quit when creating a new project or moving audio regions.

Owners of Apogee’s Duet 2 will find that v9.1.5 now properly launches Maestro 2 when the command to “Open Apogee Control Panel” is selected, and the update fixes issues with the EVB3 plug-in and direct text input of the pitch reference for the Tuner plug-in.

Three errors introduced in the previous version are resolved: an issue in which the LFO sync for some plug-ins did not sound as expected, an amusing problem where automating the Wet/Dry mix control in the Delay Designer inadvertently caused a “zipper” noise to be made, and an issue in which some audio regions might shift out of position if the Pack Take Folder command was invoked.

Other general bugs that have been addressed in the update include a fix for the “Toggle Zoom to Fit Selection or All Contents,” key command, which now correctly recalls the previous zoom view; a rare issue in which Japanese key command sets might not be available; another rare occurrence where regions in tracks could shift to the next adjacent track after performing an undo to recover from deleting a comp section in the take folder, and another issue with take folders where they would not sound on soloed tracks if the Track Mute/Solo button was set to “Slow Response” (CPU-saving) mode.

The updates are recommended for all users of Logic, and are free updates to v9 users. The Logic Pro update is 192.55MB in size, while the Express update is 138.84MB. It is available through Software Update or Apple’s support website.
