Apple Releases Wi-Fi Update v1.0 for Lion Running on 2009 and Newer iMacs

Apple has issued an update over the weekend specifically for iMacs (late 2009  and newer) entitled Wi-Fi Update v1.0 to correct an issue where the  unit does not automatically re-connect to a known Wi-Fi network after waking  from sleep. The update requires that users be running the latest version of Lion  (10.7.3) and weighs in at 25.81MB. It’s available for all supported OS X  languages.

The update differs from the EFI update for iMacs and other models issued on Thursday,  which was numbered v1.9. That firmware update dealt with issues regarding boot  device selection when a USB device was hot-plugged, as well as resolving an  issue that could prevent HDCP authentication after a reboot.

The Wi-Fi  Update v1.0 is recommended for all Lion-running iMac users. It will appear in  Software Update on qualifying machines, or can be downloaded directly from the  company’s support website.
