Apple today released updates to its Aperture photography utility and ProKit suite of professional applications.
Aperture 3.1 offers improvements to stability and overall performance, while adding compatibility with iLife ’11. The updated addresses a long list of bug fixes for problems relating to importing, face detection, rendering, red eye correction, slideshows and GPS data.

Both updates are now available from Apple’s support site or via Software Update. The ProKit update is recommended for all users of Final Cut Studio, Final Cut Pro, Motion, Soundtrack Pro, DVD Studio Pro, Aperture, Final Cut Express, Soundtrack, Logic Studio, Logic Pro, MainStage, WaveBurner and Logic Express.
