Android Outselling iPhone in the US

In the first quarter of the year, Google-based phones like the Motorola Droid and HTC Droid Eris helped bump Android up to 28 percent of the market where Apple’s iPhone had just 21 percent. RIM’s BlackBerries dropped to 36 percent, down 6 percent.

Verizon’s Droid line as well as their Buy One Get One Free promos is one of the major factors to the success of the Android sales this last quarter.
