AMD Commits to MeeGo OS

AMD has pledged its support to the  MeeGo open-source operating system for mobile devices. The announcement was made at the MeeGo Conference 2010. AMD is joining  Intel and Nokia as partners in the Linux Foundation project., which AMD is already a member of.  .

AMD hopes to use the resulting product in its future  Accelerated Processing Units  like the Bobcat and Bulldozer architectures.

MeeGo is meant for netbooks, tablets, in-vehicle systems and smartphones.
