Amazon has updated the iOS edition of its Instant Video app with a long-demanded feature, AirPlay support. For owners of both an iOS device and an Apple TV, AirPlay should offer a more convenient way of watching Instant Video on a larger screen. The Apple TV has native support for a number of video services, like Netflix and YouTube, but not Instant Video, in spite of it being on rival set-tops like the Roku.
The app has also gained a pair of other improvements. One is access to data from IMDb, including ratings, cast and crew listings, and trivia and quotes. Users can additionally read customer reviews of movies and TV shows, gaining more immediate feedback.
