Adobe Updates Photoshop Express for iOS – Now Shares to Flickr

Adobe has updated its free iOS photo-adjustment app Photoshop Express to version 2.1, adding a new in-app purchase of frames and borders known as the Adobe Border Pack. The optional purchase, which costs $2, adds 22 new borders and frames, and users can try out the frames before they buy. The new version also brings support for direct Flickr uploading, enhances e-mail sharing of pictures with pre-populated subject lines and image captions, and more.

The Adobe Border Pack works with PS Express on the iPhone 3G and newer, the iPod Touch second generation and newer, and both the original and current iPad. The pack is the second in-app purchase added to the free program: an Adobe Camera Pack for $5 added the ability to use the camera in an iOS device directly, including a self timer and auto-review, along with a “reduce noise” filter.

The new version also fixes an issue where metadata could be lost when saving an image. The tool already included basic cropping/straightening, color and black and white options, as well as filters like “soft focus” and effects such as “Vignette Blur,” “Warm Vintage” and “White Glow.” Images and videos can be saved to an online Photoshop.com account as well as to the camera roll for later syncing.
