Adobe Releases Photoshop Elements 7.0 for Windows

Today  Adobe Systems  has announced the latest release of their photo editing product aimed at the casual user, Photoshop Elements 7.0.   In addition to the standard product, users will also have access to membership in Photoshop.com.

Photoshop.com provides users with the following features; templates and tutorials delivered on a regular basis, automatic online backup and storage of photos and videos, access to photos and videos from virtually anywhere, and interactive options to share photos with great impact.

New Features in this release of Photoshop Elements:

  • Smart Brush which helps users apply effects exactly where they want with a single stroke.
  • Scene Cleaner, based on Adobe’s   Photomerge technology, creates the ideal photo by letting users simply brush away unwanted subjects that got in the way of their intended photo.
  • Also included are Quick Fix tools like the Toothbrush tool that can whiten teeth instantly or the Blue Skies tool to make colorful photos more vibrant.

Photoshop.com members also will be able to upload photos directly from a mobile phone. The addition of the Photoshop.com Mobile Beta, a rich Adobe Flash based mobile application, offers camera phone users a new way to  upload, share and access photos using their Photoshop.com account. Photoshop Mobile runs in the background and allows consumers to take photos, send messages and run other applications while pictures are being uploaded to their Photoshop.com account.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 7  for Windows will be available in local retail outlets such as Best Buy, Circuit City, Costco Office Depot, Office Max and Staples in October 2008. You can for pre-order now at www.adobe.com, www.amazon.com, www.bestbuy.com  and  www.costco.com.  

Photoshop Elements 7.0. will list  for $99.99.   Photoshop.com Plus membership will be available for purchase from within the product for $49.99 and basic membership can be experienced for free. Photoshop.com membership is available in the U.S. only.  There also a Photoshop Elements 7/Premiere Elements 7 bundle which will be available for $149.99.
