Adobe Announces Acrobat X Pro

Adobe has launched Acrobat X Pro, the  10th mjor version of its PDF creation and editing tool.   Added functions include a new Reading Mode and the ability to share files online at Acrobat.com. Users are also now able to convert Microsoft Office files to PDF with a single click. A new conversion function will convert PDF data to Microsoft Excel exporting complete files or portions of files.

It is  now possible to automate multistep tasks using the new Action Wizard to improve workflows and share user automations with other users. Tools that are used most frequently by individual users can be grouped together in the customizable Quick Tools area. Comments made by a document reviewer can also be filtered according to key word.

As in the past, Acrobat X Pro comes in Mac and Windows versions. Mac versions require an Intel Mac running Mac OS X v10.5.8 or v10.6.4. Windows versions supported include Microsoft Windows XP Home, Professional, Windows Vista Home Basic or Premium, Business, Ultimate, Windows 7 Starter, Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate.

Acrobat X Pro and other products in the Acrobat X range are expected to ship within 30 days. Acrobat X Pro will cost $450.
