aaron-paul-exodus“Breaking Bad” alum Aaron Paul has nabbed the male lead in Hulu’s original series “The Way,” the streaming service announced Wednesday. He will also serve as a producer on the Jason Katims drama.

Paul will star opposite Michelle Monaghan, as her husband, Eddie Cleary, a convert to a controversial movement with a wayward past who suffers a crisis of faith when all that he’s come to accept as truth in his life is fundamentally challenged.

“The Way” follows a family at the center of a controversial movement struggling with relationships, marriage and power, with each episode taking an in-depth look at what it means to choose between the life we live and the life we want.

The 10-episode project, hailing from Universal Television and Katims’ True Jack Productions, was created by Jessica Goldberg who will write and exec produce the series with “Parenthood” creator Katims and Michelle Lee, also of True Jack Prods.

Additionally, Paul’s company Lucid Road Productions has made a first-look deal with Universal TV, which is behind the Hulu drama. Prior to joining “The Way,” Paul won the Emmy for best supporting actor in a drama three times over for his fan-favorite and critically acclaimed role as Jesse Pinkman on AMC’s “Breaking Bad,” opposite Bryan Cranston.

“The Way” is slated to premiere this winter on Hulu.
