Imagine Products has launched a new version of ShotPut Pro, v4.0. The program is intended for offloading photos and video from professional shoots. Some supported media sources include Panasonic P2, Alexa, AVCHD, Sony SxS, JVC ProHD, Red One and CF or SDHC cards. Files can be named automatically and copied to one or more destination drives at a time.
The v4.0 upgrade implements a new interface, said to simplify both setup and status monitoring. For security purposes users can now verify media with MD5 or CRC checksums, file-by-file sizes or byte-to-byte comparisons; files can be dragged into a new Checksum Generator at any time. Notes and contact and card ID information can be added to offload logs, and email notifications can be used to avoid sitting in front of a computer.
An added Advanced Naming option enables multicam support. Other changes include OS X Lion support, the ability to simply skip (and/or retry) files, and a preview function for HD-VU owners. ShotPut Pro 4.0 is $99 new, or $29 as an upgrade from v3.x.
