RIM has released an update for its free BlackBerry Travel app. The new version, 1.1, has added rental car booking and a world clock. This supplements the itinerary management, flight search and hotel booking features already available in the original release.
In addition to the world clock with 60,000 cities and rental car bookings, new features in the release include bookings in 20 local currencies and updated hotel recommendations.
The initial release of Travel covered only the US, Canada, UK, and Spain. Since then, coverage has grown to over 70 countries in five languages. Travel partners include United/Continental, Lufthansa, Hilton, Starwood, Accor and Travelport.
BlackBerry Travel 1.1 is now available in the Beta Zone.
