HP on Wednesday brought out a wide range of educational hardware that was headlined by two cross-platform tools. The Digital Sketch wireless pairs up with a computer and is meant to steer a classroom presentation or add notes without being tethered to its host computer. It supports simultaneous input and lets someone mouse through the interface while another draws on the slate.
The Digital Sketch comes bundled with HP’s Scrapbook app for the OS for collaborative drawing.
The Pocket Whiteboard gives users a way of converting any surface, up to 10 feet diagonally, into a digital drawing surface. The design needs to attach to a computer through USB but is portable enough to be moved around. A lock slot can keep it chained when not in use.

HP ships the Pocket Whiteboard this month and will release the Digital Sketch a month later. It has also promised 20- and 30-notebook carts that handle up to 15.6-inch notebooks as well as a Presentation Station 1000 that can integrate a notebook on an arm as well as handle a document camera, keyboard and mouse. These won’t arrive until April.
