The official TiVo iPad app should be at the App Store by the end of January, per a tweet by TiVo. Tivo’s Twitter feed also adds that the prospect of Android and iPhone apps is being investigated. The iPad app will require a connection to the same network as a TiVo set-top.
Though primarily intended to handle DVR functions, the app will also serve other purposes. Users will for instance be able to browse program guides, or substitute an iPad for a TiVo’s normal remote control.
