The latest update in Microsoft’s bid to bring TV content to Xbox 360 Live has the new content arriving on its game console subscription service as early as next week. Microsoft is engaged in talks on the matter with many content providers and cable companies, with Comcast and Verizon chief among them. A source who couldn’t speak publicly revealed these details to Bloomberg.

The source also said deals with Time Warner’s HBO, Sony Picture’s Crackle streaming service, NBC Universal’s Bravo and Syfy channels and Lovefilm UK are also expected to be made. It’s possible accessing these over the Xbox won’t cost any more, provided users are already subscribers. At the very least, they wouldn’t need a separate set-top box to access the channels or services, where applicable.

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer announced back on September 14 that the Bing search engine will be added to the Xbox and Kinect’s voice recognition can be used to search for TV shows on the web.
