12 Years a Slave and Doctor Strange star Chiwetel Ejiofor is rumored to be in discussions to appear in the live-action fantasy sequel Maleficent 2 at Disney Pictures.
The Hashtag Show broke the news, saying Ejiofor’s role will be a potential romantic foil for Angelina Jolie’s titular character and if confirmed it will see him join other cast members Michele Pfeiffer and Ed Skrein.
Joachim Ronning helms from a screenplay by Jez Butterworth and Linda Woolverton. Ejiofor recently starred in the role of Scar in Jon Favreau’s live-action The Lion King.
