FilmNation Entertainment has come onboard to help finance Veep creator Armando Iannucci’s The Personal History of David Copperfield and will launch sales at the European Film Market this month.
The project is based on the 1850 novel by Charles Dickens and will offer a modern take on the story as Copperfield navigates a chaotic world to find his elusive place within it.
Iannucci is directing from a script he wrote with Simon Blackwell, the pair previously collaborating on 2009’s In the Loop. Kevin Loader and Iannucci will produce the feature which is now casting ahead of a June shoot in the United Kingdom.
