PC players have enjoyed mod support for the Fallout series for years, but their console brethren only recently got the feature with Fallout 4. The Xbox One received mod support back in May and the PS4 was expected to get mods in June. However, due to some serious technical issues experienced during the PS4 mods closed beta, players won’t be getting mod support for the system any time soon.

Bethesda announced the unfortunate news on Twitter.

The issues encountered during the beta test included memory and performance issues, sound files not working, and a mod storage limit of 900MB (compared to the 2 GB limit on the Xbox One). Bethesda has said it is working with Sony to fix these problems. It is unclear when the issues will be resolved, so the developer is asking users to remain patient.

We don’t know what is causing these issues on the PlayStation 4 as neither Bethesda or Sony have said much beyond what we have reported.
