Ovation is about to get a mega dose of soul. Patti LaBelle is set to appear on “On the Record With Mick Rock,” the channel’s new travel-style profile series.
The Godmother of Soul will take Rock on a tour of Philadelphia on the August 23 episode. They’ll visit the theater that launched her career and stop by her childhood home, where she found her voice with the aid of a broomstick microphone. After grabbing a bite at her favorite soul food spot, she also invites the cameras into her living room for an intimate performance of “What Can I Do for You?”
“On the Record With Mick Rock” premieres August 2 on Ovation. Previously announced episode subjects include Josh Groban, Kings of Leon and Flaming Lips.
