nike_fuelband_single_largeApp support for Nike’s FuelBand accessory will remain iOS-only, at least for the foreseeable future, according to a post on one of the company’s official Twitter feeds. “Right now, we’re focused on iOS and web. We’re not working on an Android App,” the tweet reads.

In March 2012, Nike promised an Android app by summer the same year. The company now appears to have abandoned Android without explanation. People without an iOS device can use the FuelBand, but have to depend on USB sync and the accessory’s web interface.

The FuelBand is one of a growing number of fitness tracking devices. As a person moves throughout the day, it tracks statistics like steps taken and calories burned. Pairing a FuelBand to an iPhone allows people to see stats right away.
