The NFC Forum today announced that it has made formal ties with several other industry groups in order to better foster collaboration between them. The new groups with which the NFC Forum is now friendly include the Global Certification Forum (GCF), the International Air Transport Association (IATA), and the Wi-Fi Alliance.
The NFC Forum and its new collaborators believe that by working together they can help spread the adoption of NFC, as well as ensure that it will be interoperable with other technologies and products/services. The groups will also work together to educate consumers on the benefits of NFC and other wireless technologies.
