The Vampire Diaries and Lost star Ian Somerhalder will be teaming with Netflix for the streaming service’s upcoming series adaptation of Jonathan Maberry’s IDW Comics title V-Wars.
Somerhalder will play Dr. Luther Swann whose best friend, Michael Fayne, succumbs to a disease turning him into a vampire and feeding on the blood of others.
As the contagion spreads, it influences society’s fracture and disarray into chaos. Swann races against the clock to figure out how to save his friend who is working on becoming the leader of the bloodsuckers.
William Laurin and Glenn Davis will serve as showrunners on the 10-episode series with Brad Turner to direct.
