House Will Return for It’s Eighth Season

After long negtiations over who would be paying the bill for production between Fox and Universal Media, and agreements has been reached and Fox has announced that their popular medical drama House, will be returning to the network for its eigth season. 

The disagreement centered around Universal’s desire to keep the payment plan as is, while Fox wanted their contribution to be 20 percent less.  The two have reached an accord that will last for 1 year. A new agreement will have to be negotiated if House get the nod for a ninth season.

“Over the past seven seasons, House has redefined the medical drama and has given us one of television’s most compelling and iconic characters,” Fox’s Entertainment President Kevin Reilly said. “From the producers to the incredible writers to the unbelievably talented cast and crew, the House team is fearless in its creativity and I can’t wait to see what they have in store next year.”

Who’s Coming Back for Season 8

Hugh Laurie, Hines Ward, Omar Epps and Olivia Wilde have signed on to return to the show. Robert Sean Leonard, who’s possible departure has been the subject of some speculation? Leonard, as House’s BFF Wilson will return, as he has also signed a new deal.

Announcements on the return of cast members Jesse Spencer, Lisa Edelstein and Peter Jacobson have yet to be made.

The press release came with just two new episodes left in the current seventh season.

The season finale, airing May 23, sees guest star Shohreh Aghdashloo admitted to the hospital as a performance artist whose injuries at least seem to have been self-inflicted for the purposes of a documentary.
