Google’s fun-filled booth at Mobile World Congress means to celebrate the more than tripling of the available apps in the Android Market since last year, currently at more than 450,000. In comparison, Apple’s iOS mobile platform offers more than 500,000 applications. Google goes on to say there are more than one billion apps downloaded by Android users every month as well. More than 800 unique devices run on Android, and the software giant brought more than 100 to display at the show.

The booth otherwise houses app pods that showcase some of the more advanced apps, such as Android Beam, which lets users exchange web links, videos, directions, and apps by touching two compatible Android devices together.

Another number Google threw out there is the 850,000 new Android device activations every day, which represents a year-on-year growth rate of more than 250 percent. Google believes there are more than 300 million devices officially running on its OS globally.

There is also a slide in the booth to make visitors feel like kids again and the Android ADK-powered Bling Bot would create designs on the backplates of their Galaxy Nexus handsets.
