Google Duo Adding Video Message Function

Google today updated its Google Duo video chatting application with a new video message feature.

The idea is to allow video callers to leave a video message in the event the person they call can’t pick up. Google says people can record video messages up to 30 seconds long. Once the video is finalized, it will be sent to the Duo app. Recipients of video messages can play the message back any time, and easily video call the sender back.

Video messages will automatically disappear within 24 hours after they’ve been watched, though Google says people can save video messages to their phone if they wish.

Video messages are rolling out on Android and iOS starting today and should reach all users worldwide within a few days.
