Epic Games’ Design Director Cliff Bleszinski speaking with IndustryGamers, took the opportunity to stop the constant rumor-mongering by once again voicing the company’s contentment with their Microsoft deal, and stated that while such an announcement would grab headlines, it’s just not going to happen:
“I would say in the foreseeable future there’s zero chances of Gears of War being on the PlayStation 3. Can we bury that now? Seriously. It’s like, we have a great deal with Microsoft, they’re a great partner…”
“It’s one of those things that would be exciting news. Hopefully DualShock would get tweaked a little bit, but anyway, enough about that.”
Sorry PS3 owners, but it looks like Gears of War 3 will continue to be a game that will either be longed after for good, or the reason to pick up an Xbox 360 console yourself.
Gears of War 3 launches exclusively on the Xbox 360 on September 20, 2011.
