South of WilshireFox Television Stations and Telepictures Prods. have set a test run for game show “South of Wilshire,” from the TMZ Studios team.

“South of Wilshire” is set in soul food restaurant Dulan’s in Los Angeles’ Crenshaw district. Contestants will be given clues to guess the identity of various celebrities associated with the area. The half-hour strip will launch an eight-week test run Jan. 4 on a handful of Fox O&Os including stations in New York and Los Angeles.

“Interesting and different, within a sustainable economic model. That’s what we’re after, and that’s what we think ‘South Of Wilshire’ delivers,” Fox TV Stations senior VP Frank Cicha said in announcing the test.

TMZ Studios’ Harvey Levin and Ryan Regan are exec producers of “South of Wilshire.” Fox TV Stations are home to the nightly “TMZ” and “TMZ Live” series from Warner Bros. Domestic TV Distribution. Fox and WB have a broader partnership covering test runs of a range of first-run syndicated series.

“We are thrilled to continue the successful partnership that Fox and Warner Bros. share with Harvey Levin,” said Ken Werner, president of Warner Bros. Domestic TV Distribution. “Together, we have produced distinctive and successful franchise programming and there is no doubt that ‘South of Wilshire’ will be the latest hit series.”
