Facebook today announced a change to its iOS app that it hopes will help people discover more music.
Facebook users will now be able to share Music Stories, which are 30-second snippets from shared songs or albums. Track samples shared from Apple Music, iTunes, and Spotify are streamed directly within the Facebook app, but users can click through to the respective service to stream the entire song or add it to their own library.
Facebook said it hopes to add more music services to its Music Story feature over time. Music Story is available in a new version of Facebook for iOS, rolling out today.
Facebook didn’t say if it is working on a similar feature for the Android Facebook app.
