Battlefield 1

Battlefield 1 is  having an open beta on PS4, Xbox One and PC, and it starts today, Aug. 30. What time? Well, that’s not explicitly clear, so we’ll dive in and figure that out.

Battlefield 1 Beta Start Time

There are two groups for the Battlefield 1 beta, those who are Battlefield Insider members and those who aren’t. Battlefield Insider members should be able to start playing Aug. 30, with codes getting sent out by DICE. Keep an eye on your inbox if you haven’t gotten one yet.

If you are a Battlefield Insider member, it looks like the beta will be unlocked at 12 p.m. EST, according to the official EA Australia Twitter account.

For those who aren’t Battlefield Insider members, you can still get in the beta as well. The fully open beta will be available Wednesday, Aug. 31. The time this beta unlocks has not been confirmed by EA, but it would make the most sense if it followed a similar release time as the Battlefield Insider times, that is to say 12 p.m. EST.

A 12 p.m. start time on Aug. 31 also makes sense given previous EA beta tests. The one forTitanfall 2, which happened this past weekend, also went live at noon. Battlefield 1 will likely follow suit.

As for the end time, EA hasn’t announced when the beta will end. Betas typically do not last long, so this will probably be closed by the end of the week.

How To Install Battlefield 1 Beta

Like the Titanfall 2 beta before it, the Battlefield 1 beta will be easy enough to join. To do so, follow these steps:

For Xbox One owners, to get yourself into the beta all you have to do is go to the Xbox Store and search for “Battlefield 1.” You should see something like Battlefield 1 Beta or Battlefield 1 Multiplayer Tech Test. Download this and you’re in.

For PS4 owners, follow the exact same steps. Go to the PlayStation Store, search “Battlefield 1” and download the beta/tech test.

For PC players, you can also get in on the fun by downloading the beta/tech test through Origin.

What Can I Do In The Battlefield 1 Beta?

While EA hasn’t officially revealed what will be in the beta, we do know what was featured in the Battlefield 1 alpha. It wouldn’t really make sense for EA and DICE to remove features from an alpha going into a beta, so the features will probably look similar to these:

  • Two Multiplayer Modes: 64-player Conquest. 24-player Domination.
  • Multiplayer Maps: Only one, St. Quentin’s Scar
  • Land Vehicles: Armoured Car, FT-17 Light Tank, Mark V Landship, A7V Heavy Tank
  • Aircraft: a three-seat bomber, a two-seat dogfighting combat plane, a one-seat scout plane and the massive airship.

We also know the beta will include the Rush game mode and the Sinai Desert map, so there could be even more new things to try out in the beta compared to the alpha.
