Bandai Namco Says “Mistakes Were Made” on Digimon World Release Announcement

After Bandai Namco Entertainment America announced on Wednesday that Digimon World: Next Order would be coming to North America as a digital-only title for PlayStation 4 in early 2017, they sent out a correction notice yesterday. In their update, they said Next Order would now be coming to PS4 through retail and digital stores, and a PlayStation Vita version would be released digitally.

Shortly after the original correction notice, they sent out another correction notice, stating that Digimon World: Next Order would be released in early 2017 in North America as a PS4-exclusive through retail and digital stores. Here’s their full statement on the matter:

BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. would like to correct and confirm information pertaining to platform availability and distribution methods for Digimon World: Next Order. The game will be made available to players in the Americas in early 2017 exclusively for the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system in both digital and boxed-retail versions.

Mistakes were made in our initial announcement for Digimon World: Next Order and we regret any confusion this may have caused to our fans. BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. looks forward to sharing more news and details pertaining to Digimon World: Next Order in the coming months leading to the game’s early 2017 launch.
