AT&T has said it has completed its acquisition of Nextel Mexico. Nextel Mexico covers 76 million customers across the country.
When first announced in January, AT&T said the acquisition would complement its recent purchase of Iusacell, another Mexican network operator.
AT&T plans to create the “first-ever North American Mobile Service area” covering more than 400 million people across Mexico and the U.S.
The company has already debuted several new service plans for calling and texting lines in Mexico since acquiring Iusacell. The deal cost AT&T about $1.875 billion.
