Vertigo told earlier this Scott Snyder and Rafael Albuquerque‘s American Vampire was going on hiatus. Issue #34 wrapped up the current storyline in January. This was done so Snyder can focus on projects like Batman, Superman Unchained, and his upcoming mini-series The Wake. Even with so much in the pipeline for Snyder, the pain of American Vampire’s absence remains.
Luckily we now news that fans of the series will be getting some new blod after-all. Vertigo has a new project which should full the void until the main series returns. They announced American Vampire: The Long Road to Hell.
This one-shot special will be co-written by Snyder and Albuquerque and illustrated by Albuquerque. Tony Moore will provide a variant cover and the issue will be oversized. This one-shot, currently scheduled for June 12, will star the vampire hunter Travis Kidd.
