Scanner manufacturer Apparent today unveiled the Doxie One, a new pared-down version of the Doxie line of personal paper scanners aimed at homes, families, and small businesses. The portable scanner is capable of scanning anywhere in the workspace with no computer connection required to scan.

The single-sheet scanner is approximately the size of an empty paper towel roll. The scanner runs on either AAA batteries or an included AC adapter, and will scan in full color up to 300dpi in eight seconds for a full page or five seconds for a photo. It then saves to either an SD card or directly to a computer.

The Doxie One scanner ships in late November for $149. The optional Sync to iPad SD card reader adapter is an additional $29. The Doxie Go remains available, and can be purchased with rechargeable batteries and a 600dpi resolution for $199.
