With a giant lead-in from the NFL, The Simpsons jumped to a season high Sunday night with its annual Treehouse of Horror episode, a Halloween spoof that tends to draw strong ratings.
Simpsons had a 3.0 adults 18-49 rating, according to Nielsen, double last week; beating every other scripted show on broadcast by a wide margin for it’s 600th episode.
Fox’s Family Guy”was the No. 2 program with a 1.6 at 9 p.m. The Simpsons and Guy, new semi-animated show Son of Zorn posted a 1.5, up from a 1.0 last week.
CBS’s NCIS: Los Angeles was the No. 1 drama of the night with a 1.3 at 8 p.m.
Lead-out Madam Secretary drew a 1.1 in the demo, even with its last original two weeks ago.
ABC’s dramas continued to struggle, with Once Upon a Time falling from a 1.3 last week to a 1.1. Both Secrets & Lies (0.9) and Quantico (0.8) should se big DVR growth, but stil may not get them the base they need.
NBC won the night with Sunday Night Football. But in a surprise, the game was off from last week, when it faced the presidential debate.
The I Colts vs.Texans game averaged a 9.0 metered-market household rating, compared with a 10.2 last week. It continues the string of ratings drops for the NFL this season.
