Freeform is looking to expand on their popular sitcom “Young & Hungry” with a spinoff in the works. The potential series would star Ashley Tisdale. Currently in development, the “Young & Hungry” spinoff is untitled and would revolve around Tisdale’s character Logan Rawlings, a lesbian magazine editor.
Tisdale, an exec producer on “Young & Hungry,” has previously guest starred on the flagship series in the role of Logan. Should the spinoff be greenlit, Tisdale would exec produce in addition to starring. As for “Young & Hungry,” which stars Emily Osment, the comedy has been renewed for a fourth season. Airing its spring finale tonight, the show returns with new episodes this summer on Wednesday, June 1, at 8 p.m.
Tisdale is no stranger to the Disney family. She rose to fame on Disney Channel’s “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody” and, most notably, “High School Musical.” She starred in all three movies, plus had her own straight-to-DVD spin-off “Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure.” Tisdale also starred in the CW’s short-lived series “Hellcats,” plus TBS’ “Clipped,” which was cancelled after one season. She is also one of the leading voice actors on Disney’s animated “Phineas and Ferb.”
