After a short break for the Thanksgiving holiday, Saturday Night Live returned last night as first in a string of three new episodes. Hosted by Ryan Gosling with musical guest Leon Bridges, the episode averaged a 4.1 rating in households in the metered markets and a 2.0/9 in adults 18-49 in the markets with local people meters. That was off from the most recent SNL original with Matthew McConaughey and Adele (4.6, 2.3) but on par with the show’s season averages (4.0, 2.0).
Unlike most live programs, including sports, SNL gets significant lifts in time-shifted viewing, growing by +48% this season from Live + Same Day ratings to Live+7.
