During Warner Bros. Home Entertainment’s Batman: Bad Blood first look panel at the New York Comic Con, producer James Tucker broke an interesting bit about the 2016 release, Batman: The Killing Joke. As you can see in the tweets below (via Stitch Kingdom), Tucker said that DC gave permission for them to make the movie rated R, although that doesn’t mean the film will be released that way.

Written by Alan Moore and drawn by Brian Bolland, Batman: The Killing Joke is the classic graphic novel telling a version of the origin of the Joker, and the book that led to Barbara Gordon’s paralysis.

The animated adaptation of Batman: The Killing Joke is executive produced by Bruce Timm and will retell this classic tale in an exciting new way. It’ll also feature an original 15-minute prologue that helps set up the story, giving even longtime fans of the story something new to look forward to.

In addition to Batman: Bad Blood and Batman: The Killing Joke, Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment is also working on Justice League vs. Titans, another original story and the first of the DC Universe Original Movies to feature the Teen Titans.
