WD today introduced the My Book Pro Thunderbolt 2 storage device. The array pre-formatted for OS X is available in four capacities, is aimed at 4k content producers, and pairs two 7200 RPM hard drives on a Thunderbolt 2 interface to deliver 435MB/s transfer rates.
My Book Pro storage combines the power of dual 20 Gb/s Thunderbolt 2 ports, and USB 3.0 compatibility. A hot-swappable hardware RAID controller gives users RAID 0 or 1 options for the drives, and front-mounted USB ports can be used to charge devices, or to connect and transfer files.
The My Book Pro storage device is protected by a three-year limited warranty and is now available. Manufacturer’s suggested retail price is $599 for 6TB, $749 for 8TB, $899 for 10TB and $999 for 12TB.
